By seeking order in chaos and finding randomness in order, this exhibition is situated within a conflicted cycle of seemingly infinite dimension. When confronted with the linear and the limited, viewers are guided toward a system based on order. This material springs from remote antiquity and nature, bearing images, memories, feelings, wonder, and loneliness, and these whirling interactions are oriented toward information, culture, time, technology, and self-exploration. The creative processes of some artists are the results of self-discipline, which are finally linked to a structure. These works might be a curve made of countless silver needles or thousands of hand-shaped ceramic chips, but they all overflow with a questioning, exploratory spirit. In order to find answers, these artists have persisted in their work, placing the expectations they carry with them into groups of sculptures and spatial structures that have primitive implications. They see light and form, but they also understand transience. Together, they reconcile personal isolation through creative methods.

Liu Ting (b.1991), Artist/Curator, graduated from Fine Arts School Affiliated to China Central Academy of Fine Arts, A bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Alfred university, now works and live in New York and Beijing. Co-Founder of T+H Gallery.
Alicia Eggert
Alicia Eggert (b. 1981) is an interdisciplinary artist whose work focuses on the relationship between language, image and time. Alicia's work has been exhibited at notable institutions nationally and internationally, including the CAFA Art Museum in Beijing, the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA2012) at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, Sculpture By the Sea in Sydney, Australia, Artefact Festival in Leuven, Belgium, and many more. Recent solo exhibitions have been held at The MAC (Dallas, TX), T+H Gallery (Boston, MA), Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA), and Artisphere (Arlington, VA).
George Ian McMahon
Ian McMahon received his MFA in Sculpture and Extended Media from Virginia Commonwealth University and his BFA in Ceramics from the New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred University. From 2009 to 2013 he was a recipient of a Jacob K. Javits Fellowship, in 2015 he was awarded a NYFA Artist Fellowship, and in 2016 he was a first place recipient of the Virginia Groot Foundation Fellowship. McMahon’s work has been shown both nationally and internationally at venues including: Crane Arts (Philadelphia,), Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute (Jingdezhen, China), The Pacific North West College of Art (Portland), Pierogi Boiler Room (New York), G-Fine Arts (Washington), Bemis Center For Contemporary Arts (Omaha), Suyama Space (Seattle), and T & H Gallery (Boston) among others. From mobile tractor-trailer to abandoned warehouse to galleries, McMahon’s work confronts and transforms both unconventional and conventional spaces. His sculptures challenge the permanence of art and the permanence of place through performative and materially focused temporal constructions. Currently living in Hornell, NY he is the co-founder and co-director of the Belfry, an artist run exhibition venue.
Kelley Donahue
Kelley Donahue was born in 1983 in Alaska, USA. She currently lives and works in New York. Donahue received her BA from Humboldt State University and her MFA in ceramics from Alfred University. She is visual artist, sound artist, and ceramics instructor. She has received grants and award such as the Barbara Rittenberg Fellowship and the NCECA sponsorship.
M. Benjamin Herndon
In my work I am interested in creating a quiet conversation between material interactions, subtle compositional intention, and optical experience. My recent paintings explore how a single curved silverpoint line, drawn hundreds of times, slowly migrates to create volumes of shimmering light. These undulating forms hover just above luminous fields of graphite on linen. Both the silverpoint lines and the graphite fields provide either brilliant reflection or profound darkness depending on the viewer’s position in relation to light. Both craftsmanship and inherent material interaction are important to my work; I create my surfaces through a labor-intensive process of applying many thin layers of handmade paint and sanding each layer, and over time the surface develops textures and qualities that are just beyond my control. In the end the paintings are embodied artifacts of time and labor which suggest that there is light to be found within darkness.
Michael Zelehoski

Michael Zelehoski (b. 1979) is an American artist who lives and works in Beacon, New York. He received his Associates of Artdegree from Bard College at Simon’s Rock and a BA from the Universidad Finis Terrae, in Santiago, Chile. Michael Zelehoski’s return to the United States after six years in South America coincided with the literal collapse of his early sculptural work into the two-dimensional picture plane.
He has exhibited nationally and internationally, with works residing in private and public collections around the world, most notably in the Musée National d’Art - Centre Pompidou in Paris, which acquired his 40 ft. monumental piece Open House in the Spring of 2015. The artist and his work have been written about in The New York Times’ T Magazine, ARTnews, Hyperallergic, Design Milk, and World Sculpture News, among many others.
Stephanie McMahon
Stephanie McMahon lives and works in Alfred, NY. She has exhibited at T + H Gallery (Boston), SCOPE New York, Memorial Art Gallery (Rochester, NY), Chautauqua Institution, The Painting Center (New York, NY) and Gravity Gallery (North Adams, MA). McMahon is recipient of the Memorial Art Gallery Award of Excellence, a project grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts and a Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts Individual Artist Grant. She was an artist in residence at Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. Her work has been reviewed and published in the BostonGlobe, Hyperallergic, New American Paintings Blog, New American Paintings Magazine, Art Lies and Cantanker Magazine. McMahon has lectured and exhibited at numerous universities including Kent State University, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Northern Illinois University, Jamestown Community College and Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang, China. McMahon holds a BFA from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University and MFA in Painting from The University of Texas at Austin. She is currently an Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at the School of Art and Design at Alfred University.
